Yowza Navarre Elliptical Review

The Yowza Navarre sits in the center of Yowza Fitness's elliptical range. It's mid priced and has the features of many of the others but with a very good maximum user weight limit, making it good for the whole family especially if one or more of them is larger in weight.

The elliptical has a built in "ramp less" incline. So you'll get a better workout with less stress on the machine and your joints. The unit weight itself is quite substantial as you'd expect with a quality elliptical but you'll find the footprint is quite small so it will go into a smaller space if required.

Console4 stars
I thought the console was very good but Yowza do a better console on their higher end ellipticals so I gave it 4 stars. It has many of the features of the others especially in what can be viewed by the way of statistics. You get an mph as though you're riding the elliptical on the ground and you get the usual calories burned, distance covered, wattage and more.

If you watch the video on the right you'll see more of the console and see it in action. The orange buttons you see are used to make adjustments to the settings as you go. You'll see the adjustments have an effect on your ride and that will become apparent on the backlit blue console. It is packed with information which you'll enjoy watching as you ride which changes as your performance changes.

Programs4 stars
The programs are always well thought out when it comes to Yowza Fitness ellipticals. They are also very similar across the range so if you like the sound of one program of another Yowza elliptical then you'll probably find it on the Navarre. This includes the heart rate control program which keeps your heart rate at the best level by using the hand pulse grip on the handlebars.

Whatever your fitness aim there will be a program for you. If you want to lose weight then you're taken care of with this elliptical. There is a target calories workout where you can ride up to or down from a calories burned number and when you've achieved that number your workout is done. So if you want to burn 200 calories on every workout then you can do it. It's not calculated by the distance you're ridden but a combination of that plus the wattage making it very accurate.

There is also the fat burning program where the settings are adjusted to give you the ultimate program to burn the most amount of fat in your body. You could use this on it's own or a combination of the calorie program and fat burning giving you the ultimate weight loss workout. It's entirely your choice making the Navarre the ultimate fitness and weight loss machine. You get out of it what you put in like most cardiovascular machines.

Features4 stars
Unlike some other Yowza ellipticals the Navarre features the traditional dual action handlebars. If you want the cardio core rotational handlebars from Yowza on an elliptical that is a similar price then I'd recommend the slightly cheaper Bonita ($1,299.00) or the slightly more expensive Pompano ($1,499.00). If you prefer the traditional upper body workout from an elliptical then this Navarre is ideal.

One of the other benefits of choosing Yowza Fitness is the cover you get. This is more than their warranty which is already very reasonable (see below). There is a 60 day money back guarantee, you won't see this with any other exercise or fitness equipment manufacturer, yet. This is 60 days after delivery not 60 days after purchase so you can see it's quite convincing if a company has this much confidence in their products as Yowza clearly does.

Yowza Fitness are a relatively new company who've built a very good reputation in a short period of time. One of the owners used to be involved with Smooth Fitness until he decided to step out on his own. He used his experience at Smooth to make the best ellipticals he and his partner could. What's particularly good is that if anything happens to your elliptical there is a national network of repair agents who can come and fix it.

Max user weight5 stars
The maximum user weight is 400 lbs or 181 kg. This is the best you'll find for an elliptical. If you or someone who'll be using it is unfortunate enough to weigh approaching this amount, then a regular workout will do the world of good especially combined with the calorie burning programs I've mentioned above. An elliptical that's well built enough to withstand that kind of weight is one that will stand the test of time.

Warranty4 stars
The warranty for the Navarre is lifetime for the frame and braking system, 5 years parts, and 2 years in home labor. This is not the best I've seen but is standard with most high end ellipticals. When you consider the price of the Navarre then you'll appreciate that this warranty represents good value. It can be extended for a price and if you think it'll get a lot of use then this could be a worthwhile addition to your purchase.

Value4 stars
At the time of writing this Navarre is $1,399.00. Although I've said this is not a high end elliptical above, the price is slightly higher than mid priced in my opinion as you could spend a bit more but quite a lot less. I think this price is good value. Like all Yowza Fitness ellipticals you're getting a lot for your money. You've got a smooth ride that you'll find enjoyable with the features that enhance that enjoyment which is what you want.

Overall 83%
This percentage means this elliptical is good but you can find better if you're willing to spend a bit more money. As with anything these days the more you spend generally the better it is. Even with the Yowza Fitness range of ellipticals there are two that are better. They are the Sanibel i35 (93%, $1,899.00) and the Captiva (93%, $1,999.00). However if you like this Navarre (83%, $1,399.00) and have that amount of money available for your elliptical then you'll be pleased with it.

If you or some of the users are going top be on the heavy side then the Navarre is the best in class with it's large maximum user weight. All of the other features are above average. You don't really find many badly made ellipticals these days if you're willing to spend a thousand bucks or higher. I liked the Navarre although I prefer the cardio core rotational system on offer from some of the other ellipticals, however, if you want traditional handlebars together with a high maximum weight then the Navarre would be a good choice for you.
